2025 Legislative Session

The legislative session is a chance for members to speak out and show up for their students, their professions and our public schools. We’re fighting for a better life for educators, students and communities.

Strong public schools are the heartbeat of our communities. The Florida Education Association Session Focus (PDF, 850K) highlights FEA’s critical priorities and what we are calling on legislators to do for our students and schools during the 2025 Legislative Session.

Weekly Schedule

By the end of week three, session will be one-third of the way over. As important as what bills are on the agenda is what bills are not placed on the agenda. Wednesday's Senate PreK-12 Appropriations Committee is a perfect example of this.

A bill that would require portraits of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln be displayed in public school (but not private school) classrooms made it on the agenda. A bill to address salary compression for Florida's educators who are #50 in the nation in average teacher pay was not placed on the agenda.

All meetings are livestreamed on The Florida Channel where they are also available for on-demand viewing within 24 hours of the conclusion of the meeting.
