FEA-Retired President’s Message

Since my election on October 11, 2018, this has been an awesome learning experience that I thoroughly enjoy. I truly believe that we learn something new every day and I hope to continue learning as the President of FEA-Retired.

It’s been almost a year and the year has been full. Soon it’ll be summer, even though it feels that way right now at 87 degrees.

We’re working right alongside FEA Leadership. They’ve included the retired in the strategic plan. FEA has offered and organized Regional Retired Trainings in Ft. Myers, Dania and Orlando to help us grow membership. These trainings will continue.

Retirees are very active with lobbying in Tallahassee. This is a must with 2020 fast approaching.

We all have been actively working on Fund Our Future Florida for all our public school students.

We ended our year with an Education Summit in Orlando with FEA and other community leaders who are supporters of public education.

This summer, five retirees will travel to Houston for the 2019 NEA Representative Assembly and the NEA Retired Conference. You’ll hear from us later this summer.

We’ll see you again in October for our Annual Meeting, in January for our Leadership Training & Presidents Meeting, in April for our Executive Board Meeting and our conference call in August.

Enjoy a safe and relaxing summer.

President, FEA-Retired
