Week two kicked off with the dedication of a little free library at Pineview Elementary School in Tallahassee.

The bus then departed Pineview for a press conference at the Capitol.

The day ended with dinner and conversations with aspiring educators at Florida A&M University’s College of Education.

Day 5: Tuesday, October 29
Day five kicked off with a visit to Suwannee County Primary School where the hard work and creativity of educators was on full display — as evidenced by President Fedrick Ingram’s “surfing.”

The bus then returned to Leon County for a meeting with education staff professional members in the area to listen to their concerns.

The final stop on Day 5 was at Florida State University’s Turnbull Conference Center for a community conversation to gather input and support from the local community.

Day 6: Wednesday, October 30
Day six began in Gilchrist County with visits to Bell Elementary School and Bell High School.

Up next was a visit to the Bradford Transportation Center to have lunch with and give thanks to transportation and maintenance employees for the work they do every day for students.

The day ended in Alachua County with the third community conversation so far of the tour. There was a packed house at the Alachua County Education Association for this conversation.

Next up was a visit to Hawthorne Middle School where President Fedrick Ingram provided inspiration to hundreds of students.

Day 8: Friday, November 1
Once again, the day kicked off with a community conversation. This one focused on the problems with teaching to the test and ways to increase parent engagement.
