Phone Banking 101

As voters, we have the opportunity to create a Florida where every neighborhood thrives, every school is full of love and learning and every child lives their American Dream.

When we join together from Pensacola to the Keys and everywhere in-between and exercise our right to vote, we will build a Florida that works for all of us. We will use our collective power to elect school board members that prioritize raising educators’ salaries, respecting educators’ voices, focusing on student success and standing up to those who seek to censor curriculum and rip books off of library and classroom shelves.

Join us in creating a better tomorrow. We will be phone banking for school board candidates every Tuesday and Thursday evening now through August 20.

Sign up here to call your fellow union members to make sure they have all the information they need to vote. 

In order to join the phone banking, you will first need to create an ActionID here. Please be sure to write down your username and password in a safe location!

Nervous about phone banking?

It can be a little intimidating to call people you don’t know, so it is perfectly understandable you might be nervous. Keep in mind, you’ll only be calling fellow union members. Our experience has been that folk actually really appreciate hearing from their union family. Below are some quotes from your colleagues who participated in our phone banking efforts during the primary election.

“Even if you end up leaving a lot of voicemails, phone banking is a great way to let our members know that their vote counts in this election — that they count as individuals.”

 

“My own experiences with getting cold calls made me hesitant to make cold calls. But phone-banking is easy. You follow a simple script to leave a voicemail, or sometimes you get a live person who is glad you called and needs information, like where to find endorsements or when early voting ends. When that happens, it’s great to feel like you really helped a fellow union member.”
