Public employees across the nation are under attack as governors and state legislatures seek to slash pensions, health care benefits, employee rights and work to decimate their unions. For teachers and support professional, this fight is not about pay and benefits - it is about the right to be heard.


Education historian Diane Ravitch says the protests in Wisconsin are the result "of a simmering rage among the nation's teachers," brought on by attempts to tie teacher evaluations to test scores, threats to collective bargaining, widespread teacher firings and other issues.
