Fund Our Future Bus Tour: Week 4

November 12 (Brevard County)

November 13 (Okeechobee, St. Lucie, Palm Beach Counties)

November 14 (Miami-Dade County)

November 15 (Broward County) 

November 16 (Monroe County)

November 17 (Miami-Dade County)

Day 13: Tuesday, November 12

The fourth week of the bus tour started in Brevard County having breakfast with retirees and meeting with other public education stakeholders.

Next was a visit to Stone Middle School in Melbourne.

Finally, the day ended with a Brevard Federation of Teachers membership meeting.

Day 14: Wednesday, November 13

The day started with speaking to students at Okeechobee High school.

We got to see some truly amazing career and technical training at Westwood High School in Ft. Pierce 

The day concluded with a student panel in Palm Beach.

Day 15: Thursday, November 14

This morning saw public education advocates come together in Miami. 

We were joined by two very special guests, Liz Shuler, Secretary-Treasurer of the AFL-CIO and Randi Weingarten, President of the American Federation of Teachers for a steward meeting for the United Teachers of Dade.

Day 16: Friday, November 15

The trip to Broward included a press conference that spoke to to issues impacting students and educators in Florida and attending a Broward Teachers Union stewards meeting.

Day 17: Saturday November 16

Another opportunity to engage in conversations with community members and public education advocates was on the agenda in Monroe County.

 
 

Day 18: Sunday, November 17

A visit to New Birth Baptist Church in Miami was a fitting end to week four of the #FundOurFutureFL bus tour.
