Location: Must be Florida Based (travel required)

Position Summary

The Membership Systems Technology Specialist position reports directly to the Director of Information Technology. This position will provide technical and functional expertise for the supported membership systems with the focus on the FEA Central Membership system. This position will be responsible for implementing local and statewide trainings, creating system documentation and training manuals, providing membership systems technical assistance to both local organizations and members, monitoring and responding to all incoming inquiries related to the system, including but not limited to phone and email support, and other duties related to the data, support and implementation of the supported membership systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or equivalent 4-year degree strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge and support of membership systems to include but not limited to:
    • NEA IMS
    • AFT Connect
    • Microsoft Access databases
    • FEA Central Membership System
    • Various spreadsheet formats
  • In-depth knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) is essential.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
  • Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
  • Industry certifications are a plus.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Experience in working in Association or labor union environment is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide customized group and one-on-one trainings for supported membership systems.
  • Assist with creating, editing, and enhancing FEA membership and Information Technology documentation in both written and digital formats including creating and editing training videos.
  • Support end users and team members with virtual (Zoom and Microsoft Teams) and face-to-face meetings.
  • Support remote and on-site statewide organizing efforts utilizing membership and other technology systems within FEA
  • Leadership and staff onboarding assistance for supported membership systems
  • Monitor the membership systems helpdesk queue and provide complete and professional responses to reported questions and concerns.
  • Provide functional and technical support for all supported membership systems.
  • Monitor and respond to emails, Microsoft Teams channels and other support queues for membership support requests.
  • Work with our 3rd party vendors that support our membership systems to report issues, request support and provide resolutions back to the organization and the users of the systems.
  • Support for coverage of primary functions within supported membership systems to include but not limited to:
    • Data entry/import and management
    • Payment batch management and approval
    • Report generation
    • Data fixes
    • Diagnosing and resolving questions and issues
    • Security management
  • This position requires travel across the State of Florida and to conferences in and out of state.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Information Technology Services.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is determined by the negotiated agreement between the Florida Education Association and the Florida Staff Organization based on relevant experience. FEA provides medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term-disability insurance to its employees and eligible family members with no monthly employee premiums.
