During American Education Week, FEA highlights the importance of providing every child in Florida with a high-quality public education.

Picture of Andy FordWe want to use this week to honor all school employees throughout Florida and acknowledge the contributions they make to the lives of our students. We believe in a motto of one of our national affiliates, the National Education Association, which proclaims that Great Teachers Make Great Public Schools. It is important to draw attention to the crucial role teachers play in making sure every student excels, and convey the hard work they do each day to make public schools great for every child. Few other professionals touch as many people as teachers. We advocate for high standards for students, fair and meaningful evaluations of their work, and resources that go directly to the classroom. Everyone must understand our public schools are at the heart of our communities. We need to support them.
