It’s time for legislators to listen

SB 256/HB 1445 is just one of the many pieces of legislation being considered that threaten Floridians’ rights and freedoms. While our costs continue to rise and freedoms erode, the governor is busy doing favors for his billionaire and corporate donors to advance his own ambition to be president, instead of providing real relief to Floridians. Right now, it sounds like this bill will be fast-tracked to passage.

If it reaches final passage, it will:

  • Prohibit union members from choosing to have their union dues deducted from their paycheck.
  • Take away your right to a collectively bargained contract if your union’s membership falls below 60% of the total potential membership.
  • Prohibit your union from contacting you at your worksite at any time – even after hours.

This is a blatant attack on working people’s rights and an attempt to silence your voice.

Together we can fight back and turn the tide on this trend before the governor and his Legislature take away more of our freedoms.

Please email the legislators who voted in favor of this bill and and let them know how you expect more of them —  that you expect them to stand up for you and your rights, instead of bowing to a governor who puts his political ambitions above the needs of Floridians.

After you submit the form, a new form will appear with the opportunity to thank the three members of the committee who opposed the bill.

Please be sure to click “SUBMIT” a second time and take that action as well!

When you click SUBMIT your email will be sent to all legislators who have voted NO on SB 256/HB 1445.
