 Just as educators were asked to add reading strategies to their classroom activities, we can expect that all teachers will be encouraged to incorporate STEM concepts in their lessons. For more information about these concepts and some model projects, here are a number of informational articles that shed light on STEM.

 

 

An article in eSchool News, “Momentum Building on STEM Education” provides a brief summary of recent developments, including a high profile report from the National Academy of Engineering (NAE). The eSchool news article also describes innovative STEM projects like CUSP (Chicago Urban Systemic Program), legislative policy initiatives, and higher education enterprises, some with disadvantaged and underrepresented urban youth, all designed to accelerate understanding of and emphasis on STEM.
