The Gulf Coast and Northeast Florida Service Units each hosted an outstanding leadership conference during February. Gulf Coast hosted their fourth annual leadership conference on February 5-6 at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin. 135 leaders from Escambia EA and ESP, Franklin CTA and ESPA, Gadsden CTA and ESPA, Jackson EA, Leon CTA, Okaloosa CEA and ESPA, Santa Rosa PE, Walton CEA, and Washington CEA participated.

Friday evening Alfreda Davis, the FEA Chief of Staff, opened the conference with a key note speech thanking the participants for their involvement and encouraging them to be active in the upcoming Florida legislative session. Following the keynote, participants attended one of several concurrent sessions then enjoyed themselves at an after dinner reception and dynamic dance. Saturday’s conference agenda included 15 concurrent sessions on informative topics, including leadership skills, legislative issues, organizing techniques, advocacy, legal aspects, bargaining, ESE assistance, and school finance.
