Identifying Effective Teacher

Ranking teachers won't keep unqualitfied teachers out of the classroom. This study suggests the best and worst teachers can be flagged early....


 

Educators' rankings don't move much according to a study that examined teacher preparation and effectiveness. New teachers increase their classroom effectiveness within a few years on the job but research suggests rankings teachers does little to get the best teachers in teh classroom. The study found the most—and least—effective elementary teachers can be identified at the start of their careers.
