Help Parents With Common Core

Parents must understand the Common Core State Standards in order to help their child succeed in school. They also need resources to challenge their students......

Common Core is finally in the classroom, and in your home in the form of homework. A study by the National Center for Family Literacy finds nearly 50 percent of parents making an almost taboo admission: They struggle to help their children with their homework. And many parents—46.5 percent—simply don't understand the subject matter. Parents are supposed to be an ally for teachers when it comes to successful learning. The more parents understand Common Core, the more assistance they can provide to their children. The parents-teacher partnership can be successful under Common Core. Help parents understand the new standards. Start with Common Core Help for Parents.
