Great Strategies that Work

Ask most teachers what the number one issue at their school is and they will most likely answer, “Discipline!”  Creating a climate where all students can perform at their highest levels involves great skill and cooperation between parents, educators, and administrators.  Classroom teachers continue to work on the craft of managing their classrooms.  AFT’s Educational Research & Dissemination program (ER&D) can provide answers to the toughest questions in this area.

Managing Antisocial Behavior (MAB) is an ER&D module that presents the most recent research on antisocial behavior and provides educators with effective strategies to handle antisocial behavior across a number of learning environments. The course begins with the Beginning of the Year Classroom Management (BYCM) module and takes the research to the next level for students who do not respond to basic prevention through effective classroom management. MAB provides teachers and support staff with the information, tools and skills they need to prevent a great deal of antisocial behavior and/or to manage much of this behavior when it arises.  Contact your local association or check the PD calendar at
http://feaweb.org/pd-calendar  to find out when the next MAB class will be held near you!
