FEA Recommends Two for Attorney General

FEA Recommends Dual Endorsement for AG Seat

JACKSONVILLE -- The Florida Education Association announced today that it was recommending state Sens. Dave Aronberg and Dan Gelber in their campaigns to become Florida attorney general.

“We have worked closely with both Senators Gelber and Aronberg in Tallahassee over the years,” said Florida Education Association President Andy Ford. “Both are bright and passionate leaders who work tirelessly to improve the lives of all Floridians. Either would be an excellent choice as our next attorney general.”

Ford said Aronberg and Gelber have both been strong advocates for public education and that both would be a vital addition to the Cabinet, as well as in the position of attorney general, which provides legal advice on many issues relating to education.

FEA has previously recommended Alex Sink for governor, Kendrick Meek and Charlie Crist for U.S. Senate, Loranne Ausley for chief financial officer and Scott Maddox for agriculture commissioner.

The Florida Education Association is the state’s largest association of professional employees, with more than 140,000 members. FEA represents pre K-12 teachers, higher education faculty, educational support professionals, students at our colleges and universities preparing to become teachers and retired education employees.
