FEA will continue to fight for Florida’s public schools
TALLAHASSEE – The Florida Education Association extends congratulations to the winners in Tuesday’s election, including Governor-elect Rick Scott, and winners in races for the Legislature and the Cabinet.
“The Florida Education Association and its local affiliates will continue to work to provide adequate resources for our public schools and will continue to work to make sure that the voices of teachers and other education employees are heard and heeded in discussions and proposals on any issue involving our public schools,” said FEA President Andy Ford. “We look forward to working with the governor-elect and with the leaders of the Florida House and Senate on assuring that we make a real investment in our children, the future of our state.”
Ford also said the FEA was heartened that the class size provisions in the Florida Constitution were affirmed by the voters.
The Florida Education Association is the state’s largest association of professional employees, with more than 140,000 members. FEA represents pre K-12 teachers, higher education faculty, educational support professionals, students at our colleges and universities preparing to become teachers and retired education employees.
