FEA Delegate Assembly
The Delegate Assembly (DA) is the annual meeting in which the FEA's highest decision-making body unites to plan, discuss, and debate education issues and the organization's future course. Important decisions are made that impact education and association policy.
The event opens with a day of business meetings and professional development. Members participate in governance and caucus meetings, explore exhibits, and network with their collegues from across the state.
Florida Education Association delegates represent local affiliate unions including student members, retired members, and other segments of the FEA membership. Each local has at least one delegate, sometimes more, who represent their peer membership.
Delegates are selected to represent the concerns and issues brought forth by their local union membership at the Delegate Assembly (DA). The delegates determine FEA's strategic plan and budget, legislative program, new business items and resolutions. Delegates also vote, by secret ballot, on proposed amendments to the FEA Constitution and Bylaws, elect FEA executive officers, and at-large members of the NEA Board of Directors.
