Delegate Assembly
The FEA Delegate Assembly is an annual meeting in which the organization's highest decision-making body unites to plan, discuss, and debate education issues and the organization's future course. Important decisions are made at this meeting that impact education policy throughout the state.
The event opens with a day of Governance meetings and some professional development for leaders and members, exhibits, and caucuses. The DA follows.
FEA delegates represent affiliate local associations/unions including student members, retired members, and other segments of the FEA membership. Each local has at least one delegate, sometimes more, who represent their peer membership.
Delegates are selected to represent their local peers and association/union concerns at the DA. The delegates determine FEA's strategic plan and budget, legislative program, new business items and resolutions. Delegates also vote, by secret ballot, on proposed amendments to the FEA constitution and bylaws and elect FEA executive officers, and at-large members of the NEA Board of Directors.
If you are interested in becoming a delegate for your local association/union, please contact your local president.
