February Deadline Set for Nomination of Candidates for FEA Executive Cabinet
The election of FEA Executive Cabinet members will be conducted at the May 11-12 FEA Governance Board Meeting. Executive Cabinet members will be elected for a three-year term commencing at the close of the 2012 delegate assembly. The following positions are subject to election:
- Elementary Teacher Director
- Two ESP Directors
- Higher Ed Director
- Large Local President Director
- Medium Local President Director
- Small Local President Director
- Two Minority Affairs Directors
- Pre K-12 Director
- Retired Director
- Secondary Teacher Director
The election of these offices will be at the May, 2012 FEA Governance Board meeting:

Time: 7:30-8:30 a.m.
Place: Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay, 2900 Bayport Drive, Tampa, Florida
Nominations for Executive cabinet positions are now open. The nomination deadline is midnight February 10, 2012, which is 90 days prior to the May 11-12 FEA Governance Board meeting.
Nominations shall be made in writing on the official FEA Nominations form along with the signatures of 25 active members of FEA. The FEA Election Guidelines and Nomination forms can be obtained from the FEA Web site or from FEA General Counsel Pam Cooper (pam.cooper@floridaea.org). Completed forms should be mailed or e-mailed to FEA General Counsel Pam Cooper, liaison to the Constitution, Bylaws and Rules Committee, at FEA, 213 South Adams Street, Tallahassee, 32301.
July Deadlines Set for Nomination of Candidates for FEA Executive Officers, NEA Director, and Proposed Constitutional/Bylaws Amendments
At the 2012 FEA Delegate Assembly, scheduled for October 18-20, delegates will elect FEA Executive Officers (President, Vice-President and Secretary-Treasurer) and NEA Director Seat 1. The election of these offices will be conducted at the 2012 FEA Delegate Assembly.
Date: October 19, 2012
Time: For two hours after the second session
Place: Rosen Hotel, Orlando, Florida
Nominations are now open for these positions. The deadline for nominations is July 20, 2012, ninety-days prior to the Delegate Assembly. The FEA officers will be elected for a three year term commencing at the close of the 2012 Delegate Assembly. NEA Board Seat One will be elected for a three-year term beginning September 1, 2013.
Nominations shall be made in writing on the official FEA Nominations form along with the signatures of 25 active members of FEA. The FEA Election Guidelines and Nomination Form can be obtained from the FEA Website or from FEA General Counsel Pam Cooper (pam.cooper@floridaea.org). Each candidate should submit a brief biographical narrative, a photo and a campaign statement of no more than 200 words. These will appear in an issue of the FEA Advocate prior to the Delegate Assembly. A July 20, 2012 publication deadline applies to these materials. Publication of materials arriving after the deadline cannot be guaranteed.

As required by FEA Bylaw VIII, Section 2. (a), proposed amendments to the FEA Constitution and Bylaws that will be acted on by the 2012 FEA Delegate Assembly must be submitted by midnight, July 20, 2012, ninety days prior to the Delegate Assembly. Amendments must be submitted to the FEA Constitution, Bylaws and Rules Committee. Proposed amendments should be mailed or emailed to Pam Cooper, staff liaison to Constitution, Bylaws and Rules Committee.
